A Letter to our Community

Hello Runologie Supporters,

It is with a  heavy heart that I announce the closing of Runologie. After 10+ years, we have decided to close our doors and move on from run specialty. Since our inception, we’ve always strived to be a pillar in the community, serve as a space for the culture of running, and tried to sell some things in between. Over the years we’ve raised over $500,000 for local non-profits and organizations, helped produce 50+ races, thrown some pretty epic parties, and helped redefine what a true running community store could be. We are so proud of the running community here in the Triangle and are honored that we’ve been able to contribute to its growth and prosperity. 

Retail is hard, y’all. Independent running stores work their butts off to help build & retain the culture of this sport and their work ain’t getting any easier. With higher prices & an uncertain economic future on the horizon, now is the time to support and standby those stores. We want to thank the brands and groups that recognized the magic in our little shop. We especially want to thank all of the people who supported us over these past 10+ years. Thank you for supporting our dreams and helping us on our mission to be more than a running store. Y’all are the best and we will miss serving your run specially needs.

Our presence isn’t fully going away just yet though. We will still be out at the Bend Bar every Monday at 6PM for the nOg Run Club and our races will live on in Dix Park. Additionally, I (Alex) will be leading some running retreats in the future, where I will take you on some of the more epic runs around the country & hopefully the world at some point. Our last operating day will be Monday, June 30th, where we will follow up the closing of the shop with a regular Monday night run from the Bend. We will have full weekend hours (see below) and would love to see you in the shop, where all items will be 50% off. 

We can’t thank you enough for the support over the years. Make it in the shop for a physical hug, otherwise we are sending them virtually. Please support local & independent and see y’all at the Sir Walter Miler.
